Here are some pictures of the Bible study that is taking place in Lucumo. Lucumo is one of the annexes that makes up Lunahuana. It was the first place in this area where LCMS World Mission began working after the earthquake of 2007. Lucumo is one of the most materially poverty-stricken areas of Lunahuana and is somewhat secluded because it is the only annex that sits on the opposite side of the Canete River. A few weeks ago, Jamie and I began going to Lucumo on Saturday mornings to share God's Word with a couple who lives there. Pablo and Filomena are farmers and it's difficult for them to make it up the mountain to our house where Bible studies are held, so we started going to them. They are continually asking to learn more from God's Word! Most Saturdays when we are there, Pablo and Filomena are taking care of four of their grandkids whose parents are working. As a result, Jamie and I decided that while she shares with Pablo and Filomena, I will share Bible stories with the kids!
Thankfully, we were also able to pick up a fifth grandchild to join in with the Bible story time. In the pictures you can see us walking across the bridge to get to Lucumo, the beautiful view of the valley from Pablo and Filomena's home, some of the kids showing off their creation pictures, and the five grandkids enjoying themselves after a game! What a blessing to be able to share with both generations!!
